HTCS Educational Frequently Asked Questions:

1. What is the procedure to enroll in a class?

Please visit the HTCS web page for the class to get details of the class.
The class coordinator information for the class is also listed on the web page. Reach out to the coordinator to find out if there is an opening at the appropriate level of this class. You can enroll in the class only if the coordinator agrees. The registration
fee is non-refundable.

2. How can I get the class information such as syllabus, schedule etc?

3. How much is the fee?

For most of the ongoing classes and workshops, there is a non-refundable registration fee of $25 per semester or workshop. For the ongoing scheduled classes, the fee is collected once per year ($50 per year rather than $25 per semester). If there is more than one child attending a class from the family, only the first child needs to pay the fee. Similarly, if a student attends more than three classes, classes beyond third are free.

For the workshops with registration fee, every child needs to pay the fee regardless of other factors.

There are classes and workshops that does not charge any fees also. Please see see Education flyers or Registration link for the class/workshop for more information.

4. What are the different education programs available at HTCS?

We offer various education programs for youth and adults including Religion,
Language, Academics, Leadership, Summer Camp, and STEM programs. Please visit the temple website for updated programs.

5. Are there programs for adults?

Yes. We offer various classes for Adults including Yoga, Meditation, Dance,
Art, etc. Please visit temple website for updated programs.

6. Are there classes in summer and winter?

No, generally the Vidyalaya runs from Sept-Dec and March-June. But there
are exceptions.

7. Where can I get details on the summer camp?

The camp details will be posted on the temple website. If you are on the
temple's mailing list, you will receive the flyers via email.

We conduct 2 sessions of summer camp. Each session is 1 week long and we
admit about 125 campers and 50 Counselors.

8. Whom do I contact if I have questions on the overall HTCS Education?

9. What is the difference between the regular class and the Workshop?

Regular classes run throughout the year in a semester pattern. Workshops
are usually 6 weeks sessions and they will be conducted based on panel member availability.

10. What is ‘Vidyalaya Day’?

Vidyalaya Day is the annual day of the Vidyalaya when students of all classes
come together to showcase their talents based on what they have learnt in their respective classes. It is usually held in May/June.

11. Are the classes full? Do you maintain Waiting list?

Typical language class size is restricted to around 20 students at each
level of proficiency, and we offer up to 5 level. Other programs can have smaller or larger class size depending on the nature of the program. We do maintain a waiting list and will give opportunity to students based on the availability.

12. How do I volunteer to be teacher, speaker or to conduct a workshop?

If you would like to volunteer your services, please send an email to
education@venkateswaratemple.org.

13. How do I register for workshops?

It is important to register your email address at the temple website to receive the temple newsletter. Initially a flyer will be sent to all registered email addresses about the program being offered. Registration Date / time will be mentioned in the flyer.

Close to the registration day, a new email will be sent to all registered
email addresses with a link for registration. Link will be activated for registration exactly at the time mentioned in the flyer.

14. Do you repeat same classes again for new students?

Classes will be repeated based on demand and teacher’s availability. Please
register your email address at the temple website to get notification about the program being offered.

15. I am not receiving temple emails announcing these classes. What do I need to do?

It is important to register your email address by visiting the temple website www. venkateswaratemple.org to receive the temple emails and newsletter.
